It wasn’t a hot August but was nice weather. We went blueberry picking, Aidan Morrill and Jewel Belanger came to visit Kaley one fine Saturday, and we also did some swimming.
In May, 2004, we bought this house in Dover, NH. This 1960 Royal Barry Wills cape with it’s center-style chimney was built in 1960, and is about 2000′ square feet not including the basement. Royal Barry Wills was a noted 20th century architect who published several articles and a book titled “Houses for Good Living“. While this house was not specifically designed by Royal Barry Wills, it is from the plans for his ‘Pope and Cottle’ house. There are only two differences between this house and the ‘Pope and Cottle’ blueprint: a slightly larger breezeway connecting to the garage and a 2 bay garage instead of a 1 bay garage. This house also includes the full optional dormer noted in the blueprints. It is typical of a Wills style home, with builtin cabinets, large multi-paned windows, and a plethora of closets and storage areas.
We went to Liam Flanagan’s 5th birthday party in Concord. We ate ice cream and did a corn maze!
In August we had a housewarming party which turned out to be really bad weather with thunder showers. But it did clear up a bit later in the day and we had good times with the pool.
Since we live over near the seacoast area (close to where Kim grew up in Wells) Kim was quite excited about getting to the Beach a few times. We only got a chance to go once, and it was a bit on the cold side (all in all it was a cool summer). Here are pics of the day we went, mostly of Kaley and her first trip to the beach. She really enjoyed the surf and sand.
We headed over to Goffstown one very hot day in August for Jewel Belangers first birthday party. I got some especially messy pictures of the kids ripping into Jewels cake.
