At last
Finally, almost 7 weeks after her birth Kaley was able to come home. It was a Friday and only 3 days before Kim’s original due date. Kaley now had a corrected age of -3 days. At this time I was able to get a lot more photos of her with her eyes open. There are pictures of her in her bassinet, and what even looks like a couple faint smiles!

Our baby is coming home soon
Kaley’s hospital stay became a prolonged event that was frustrating and tiring. She ended up having issues with reflux, due to her prematurity. She would have reflux which would shut down her airway (to prevent aspiration), so shed stop breathing until she swallowed or spit out the food. This kept her on the monitors for much longer then expected and was also very scary when she would stop breathing! She still has pretty severe reflux which can be very tiring and messy. She’s currently taking Reglan and Zantac to help. This is something that is expected to resolve by 6-9 months when she matures and starts sitting up more straight on her own.
There are some pictures here of Kaley’s first bath (that we saw) which was done by a nurse, Kim shutting off the monitor, and Kaley’s first time in her car seat getting ready to go.
