Matt Hanson’s Brain Archive
In September and October of 2002 we went to the Hopkinton State Fair with Ryan, Lisa, Alex, Jeff, and Jay J. I also made a trip to Rochester to do some school work and brought my cross bike to ride the Greenway they have out there. I learned about it through one of the professors homepage. We also went to see Kim’s cousin Melinda run in the Portland Marathon.
We checked out Goffstown’s annual Pumpkin Regatta, when they hollow out the giant pumpkins, attach small outboard motors and race them down the river. There was an additional treat this year, as the world record for largest pumpkin was broken. There’s a picture of the new world’s biggest pumpkin inside!
The 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest was a great success, building upon our 2 person contest last year. This year we had friends come for the weekend, in lieu of our annual New Years Party. The actual final pumpkins are here and the vote results are here.
This year our 2-pumpkin pumpkin-carving contest grew into a 12-pumpkin contest. This years “Pumpkin-Master” (winner) is ‘Fraidy-Cat’ by Jason and Dianne Charland. This years “Pumpkin-head” (the opposite of winner) is “Petey” by Justin Crouse. Way to go to both ends of the spectrum and all in between!. This gallery shows all of the participants of the pumpkin carving contest along with photos of their pumpkins both lit and unlit.
Kim’s cousin Carla Crews got married to Matthew Howe. We attended a nice ceremony in Concord followed by a fun reception at Pat’s Peak. It was good to see all the family that lives in out of state.
