Slow going
It’s been a slow month for scanning in photos, as I’ve been working on other things. All in all I’ve added 155 photos this month. I’ve opened up two more sub sections to the Picture Pages: The Legacy Photos section contains some old negatives from my Grandfather. I’ve also added a small number of photos to start off the After College section (1995-1999). I’ve also added some more pictures to the High School section, mainly the remaining photos from the Maine Photographic Workshops. I realize that this isn’t too exciting for most people, but I’m scanning them in as I find them. I’ll get to them all sooner or later. I’ve also periodically added to my Work and School page, which I don’t wait to update monthly as I add little things from time to time..
I am also getting the feeling that next month’s update I may need to skip. I’ve taken on a lot of projects this summer and may be strapped for time. One of these projects includes a redesign of the core way this site is organized. I know it hasn’t been too long, but managing thousands of photos is no easy task - a disorganized collection quickly becomes unwieldy. To add to the problems all the photos must be resampled to lower sizes and made into galleries for web publishing. I’d like to figure out how to close the gap efficiently so that the Scanning to Web process has little to no steps in between. At the same time I’m beginning to set up my own web server and may explore some databases for managing pictures. And to keep my goals high

My god, it’s full of water
